Toby Rosing
is native of Atlanta,
Georgia who received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of
Florida. Her Art instruction began in 1984 with Ouida Canaday and also
studied with Joe Perrin,
Dean Emeritus, Georgia State
University and Alan Tiegreen Tiegreen, Professor at Georgia State
University. Toby ventured into sculpture around 1989 when she studied the
lost wax method with Jean Williams and in 1992 studied clay with Teena
Stern, Martin Dawe and Don Haugan. Toby has been in many juried shows, including those at Artists' Atelier, International Miniature Show, Cobb County Gallery Association, Dekalb Arts Festival, Georgia Marble Festival, South Cobb National Art Exhibit and The Trinity Arts Group, Atlanta Artists Center (AAC) in Buckhead, AAC' annual Traveling Show and their Gallery at Galleria Mall in Cobb County. Toby has received several awards for her sculpture including: Winners Circle, Artists' Atelier (1994): Honorable Mention, Traveling Show, Atlanta Artists Center (1995); 2nd Place Sculpture, South Cobb National Art Exhibit (1995); 3rd Place, Georgia Marble Festival (1995); 2nd Place, The Fine Arts Society of Kennesaw (1997). In February 2003, she was invited to be in the South Cobb Arts Alliance exhibit, "Cornucopia of Art by Women." The Trinity School invited her to be the 2003 Artists Market and The Green Rabbit Ballery also included her sculptures in their February 2003 Artists market and The Green Rabbit Gallery also included her sculptures in their February 2003 show of seven artists. Toby has had two two-person shows at the Mable House South Cobb Art Association. She has also had a three-person show in 1996 at the Artists' Atelier; in the year 2000 she had a two-person show at the Carolyn A. T. Mann Gallery and a two-person show at the Artists' Atelier. September 2002 she was one of the two featured artists at the Artists' Atelier and has donated two sculpture awards and their molds to the Jewish Family Services. The Women's Auxilliary William Breman Jewish Home commissioned a sculpture for their yearly award and Toby also had several commissioned peices for private collections.
